She has beautiful hair! You probably already know that to go from dark to blonde, as you're stripping the hair of it's color as opposed to putting color in it, you need to have it bleached. This will likely cause some split ends and loss of elasticity but there are some excellent conditioning treatments you can use (I love Kerastase's Resistance range and Redken All Soft). I don't know whether you'll be doing it at home or at a salon so I can't offer anymore advice on that but her hair is very light so I'd aim for an ash shade with some golden %26amp; bleach highlights but if you're going to a salon your colorist will know best.

As for the length, I don't know where you live but there are weaved extensions which are a little healthier for your hair and last the same length as glued-in ones. You can also get clip-in ones (I get mine from eBay!) if you just want to have it like that once in a while.

And as for curling, my hair is naturally curly but I always tweak the curls with GHD hair straighteners by starting from about 3 or 4 inches from the root and then rolling the straighteners around the hair instead of just gliding them straight down. You can also buy heated rollers but they can be pretty expensive, or if you are patient you can buy much cheaper rollers from a drug store and put them in when your hair is wet and either wait for it to dry naturally or use a hairdryer to speed up the process. You'll also want to put on some anti-frizz serum while your hair is wet and then again when it is curled. John Frieda Frizz-Ease is the cheapest option and does the trick, although I usually use Bumble %26amp; Bumble Defrizz or Kerastase Oleo-Relax. If your hair is naturally very fine then you'll need to put on a volumizing product (try Bed Head Superstar) when it's wet, blow dry it and then use the serum to finish off the look when it's dry.

I haven't had much luck with curling irons as I find they never really heat up, take too long and are hard to use without hurting my hands in some way, but if you use them make sure you get ones that are ceramic.

Also, don't brush your hair when it's curly or else all that hard work will go to frizz!

As for a perm, I got one once when my hair was going through a flat-and-dull phase and it was such a pain. It took a long time, smelt bad and didn't last very long at all. The curls were also very tight and hard to maintain and it's difficult to get it straight on the days when you don't want curls.

You can get extensions for layering and volume. Try getting the 100% human hair ones. Also, you can buy a large curling iron and make waves. Spray some hairspray and you're done. It isn't difficult. Practice practice and you'll get it!

You don't want to get hair extentions your hair will just grow out naturally. You would definitely have to dye it back to blonde and you would probably have to get a perm if it is hard for you to curl your hair.
