I currently have medium blonde hair with natural blonde hightlights. My hair is usually a little darker than this, but I used a product called sun-in to make it lighter. Now my hair is medium blonde but it kind of has an orangey tint to it. Can I use a semi-permanent hair dye like Clairol Natural Instincts to make my hair blonder and not so orange? And once the dye fades away, will it totally go back to my original color or my lighter color from the sun-in product?
Semi-Permanent Hair DYE Question!?
Well to be honest,
You would be waaaay better off going to the hairdressers if you want your hair lighter,
because, and trust me because i dye my hair LOADS,
If you try to dye your hair lighter at home, even if it's just a shade lighter, it usually goes wrong.
Just go to the hairdressers, it shouldn't cost much and it will definitely look good %26amp; you can get a trim or whatever too =]

Semi-Permanent Hair DYE Question!?
The sun-in products usually contain hydrogen peroxide. This will permanently bleach your hair and will turn it orange....it will never return to your natural color. You would need to cut/grow it out.
If you want to dye your hair lighter, definitely go to the hair dresser/salon...they will be able to fix your problem and it will actually look blond and not orange!
Semi-Permanent Hair DYE Question!?
You can't lighten hair with a temporary or semi-permanent hair dye, because it requires bleaching.
Once dye fades out, it goes back to the color that you applied it to, which would be the lightened color, unless it leaves some staining.
