Im a teen with hair length problems...?

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING

Im a 13-yr-old guy in a public middle school and I have medium-short hair..like its medium in front and back, and in the front its down to my eyebrows.

So anyway, I need to get long hair, but my parents wont let me. My dad wants me to have short hair, but he wouldnt really care if i want a hairstyle change (hes lax). But my mom is another story; its like long hair is the end of the world for her. She wont let me get long hair and is very strict about it.

Everytime I ask her, she says that she says that a guy with long hair is from "the boondocks". Whatever. Apparently, everyone in my school is from the boondocks. lol. Even my friends have grown longer hair, and my mom STILL wont let me. Now shes disapproving of my friends hair!

Please help me how can I convince them?

think of some people, or celebrities, that your parents really admire. inverview/show pictures of them to your parents about/with longer hair. show your parents that if these people think that it's okay, then it must be okay for you.

good luck!

Maybe just get clip in extensions. There are some good ones out there like Jessica Simpsons line. That way you can have short hair, but you can make it long some days.

It doesnt look bad, I know some people who have them and Id never be able to tell

It is really tough to convince parents of letting you stuff like that. For me it is getting my lip pierced. But try showing her examples of high class/respectable people with long hair

Identify guys whose lives are on an enviable track to success and whose grooming choice is long hair--long, healthy, trimmed, always-clean, well-kept hair, unlike the tangled split-ended former mullets she's probably thinking of with the boondocks remark.

Our son started growing his hair long when he was about your age. He's a college senior. This spring he'll graduate with honors--and gleaming hair nearly to his waist. He's a good student, a nice person, kind of shy, pretty smart. Certainly smart enough to choose for himself at 13 what he wants to look like.

mom knows best, why do you want to be like everyone else be your self and talk to you mom maybe you can grow it in the summer and see if she likes it and will let you keep it also most guys who have long hair don't take care of it and it always looks bad maybe she think you won't take care of it, don't fight with her get some picture of guys with long hair and show her maybe she will change her mind but she does know best.

Oh come on. Long hair on guys? I agree with your mom personally. All these guys with long hair in my school never get dates.

You could try clip in extensions......i guess then they wont be real so your mom may be convinced?
