use big curlers or a large curling iron if u want to do it quickly. ure going to need to spray it right after it comes out of the curler and slowly stretch it a little as it curls to make it wider and not so round. then spray it again to finish it off. Start from the back of ure head and move towards ure front. ure hair needs to be long enough to wrap around aswell, that will change everything.

curling iron.
don't try to cram too much hair into the curling iron though, have patience and use small sections spray it either before or while it's on the barrell NOT after you've already curled it.

you would use a thick curling iron and hairspray . if your hair is straightened already go ahead and put the curls in . i also have thick very curly hair and it would be hard for me to do that but it can be done

Your gonna have to make your part wierd like hers,
and use a 1" curling iron.
Your hair should seem thinner when its straightened, mine does

I have the same hair as yourself and I sometimes curl it just like that with my chi iron. Mine is also extremely thick! This is how it works and its best that somebody else do it for you:
Take small sections of your hair. With the straightner, start at the root of your hair and pull downward. Then flick your hair around the straightner and keep twirling it around it till you reach the end of the hair. Gently pull it down and let the hair fall loose. Divide the hair into two and twirl each small piece around your finger to make more curly. Repeat the above. Then use hairspray to make it stay. Have a friend practice the technique a few times and then she'll master it. It'll end up looking great.

While your hair is clean and damp, use a hair pick to take thin layers of your hair up,about as much as you would use as 1/3 of a medium style braid. Use styling gel SPARINGLY, coat the hair from about an inch from the scalp to the ends, then twist your hair (not too tight) around your finger until it starts to double the twist(curls itself up farther than you are twisting.) then anchor that curl to your head w/ a bobby pin or small clip. Remember to twist from the right side of your head back towards the right , and the left side towards the left, and try to keep the amounts of hair that you are using consist ant.Keep the bangs -if you have them- and the hair surrounding your face untwisted- use a curling iron , or gel to do them last after you see how it looks- Then you can individualize the look., Mist your hair w/ water if it starts to dry out before you are done, and blow it dry when you are through( on a low setting! you don't want to burn your scalp by being impatient.)
