Burgundy hair help !?

I had naturally medium brown hair last week and i colored it burgundy. My husband and i don't like it much because it looks too purplish for us. Anyways, would putting brown hairdye overtop of it get rid of the puplish hues? or any other advice? There are no good hair salons where i live! I have to do it myself

yes there are boxes of hair color ! Any shade...i dont care if its a little purple, but won't plain brown hair dye help it ??

The opposite of purple on the color wheel is yellow. Your absolute best bet would be to buy a Golden Brown. The gold will neutralize the purple, (cancel it out). Whenever a color neutralizes another, it basically turns brown.

well you should let me do your hair

try going somehwere like Sally beauty supply. There is a product called "effasol" I believe, and it removes hair dye :o)

Wash your hair several times with laundery detergent and that should strip the hair of some of the dye. However, this will also dry out your hair. You will need to do a deep conditioning afterwards.

Try for an ash brown . . . that should nuetrlize things then wait a couple weeks let the color fade and try again . . . also most hair dye boxes have a number you can call for help on the instuctions . . . I called one time becasue my hair got f@cked up and they sent me coupons for replacement dye.

i have my hair dyed auburn (pretty much the same thing), ive had it this color a number of times and after 2 weeks or so the color DEFINITLY fades out so dont worry too much, the best thing i can say to speed up the process is wash yur hair often

You can try to soften the color by putting on a lot of conditioner and letting it sit for a while (put on a shower cap and go play online for a while, or something) before rinsing it out. Often, if you do that a few times, the color will fade a bit.

If that doesn't work, color over it with a warm (not red!) brown.

All I can advise is for you to dye it black. And then lighten it to whatever color you want. But it may be very damaging to your hair.
