I have medium brown hair, dark brown eyes and pail skin. My hair is kinda frizzy and I would like to no how to make the frizz go away. I straighten my hair but don't blowdry it, would that help? Try frizz ease by John Freida. I've used that and it works. Bed head also makes a good anti-frizz serum. I'd personally buy ION anti-frizz spray from sally. It works great and is inexpensive.

Yet, I have loads of really stick thin friends with medium, straightened hair - 'emo' style (fringe over one eye). Most of them have none of the traditional attractive features (upper body or thigh muscles, tans, even handsome faces) and yet, it seems they're always recieving more attention than I do (and it's not about personality, before you ask, since all they need to do is show some randomer a photo).

It should be in the cost of a hair cut for you. all it involves is a pair of thinning shears, which are gapped to take out chunks of hair, I get mine thinned all the time, i am a hair dresser and have a ton of hair so every three weeks or so i let someone hack into it, lol. good luck!

I do the same thing every time I get a haircut. I don't think it is extra with a haircut. If I were to come in between a cut to get it thinned I think she charges about $5 or so. When I was a thinning virgin I unknowingly let someone do it that wasn't experienced. By the time she was done you could see through my hair....I didn't let this ruin the benefits of thinning it out though. After I recovered from the initial whack job I went to some who knew what they were doing. It saves me drying time, shampoo and conditioner, and styling time!

Walk around and look at people and speak to some one who you like their hair....ask them where they got their hair done and go in and talk to the stylist and see what she suggests for you .....you do not have to do it right there and then, just have a consultation with the hairdresser....maybe you can not afford what she is suggesting right now. I used to do a mixture of reds browns and blonds on clients with mousy brown hair......they looked great!

I own a chi hair straightener, (Some people have told me that its awful, some have told me its great, but I own it so thats the one I'm going to use.) and I would like to know what products I should use and what steps I should take to straighten my thick, curly, medium length hair.

I have tried straightening my hair with the chi once without using any products, and my hair was very straight but it looked quite dry.

I own Sebastion Potion 9 Leave In Conditioner and Matrix Sleek Look Smoothing System Iron Smoother. I bought the iron smoother with my chi because the lady at the store reccomended it. I bought the leave in conditioner at a later date at a different store, and the lady there said that it is good to use with a flat iron and she tried it out with a bit of my hair and at the time it looked nice.

I use Head and Shoulders shampoo and I use dove conditioner.

I'm also wondering if I should use serum gloss when I'm done straightening my hair to make it look shiny.

I use a little leave in conditioner after I shower then I usually blow dry my hair to start, not perfectly straight or anything but at least so it gets the idea of being semi-straight. I know this is not going to be a popular answer, but as a cancer survivor, who had blue black hair and colored it when the front went stark white? I found out that black dye is THE most cancer causing color, but every single hair dye is cancerous. I don't quite understand how layers look creepy because sometimes tapering and long hairs are perfect for long hair. If your hair feels too thick, get it thinned out by a professional with thinning shears. I would take it off three inches, see how you like that, and go shorter if need be. Don't get too much cut at once or you'll probably regret it. When you refuse layers, there's not much variety for you, other than maybe getting your ends cut with a straight razor, which creates a softer line than scissors.

Girl what are your doing?! Step away from the hair color. Level 10 for most professional hair colors is the lightest blond available. But that would only, I repeat only be achieved if you were naturally a level 7 or higher. (Level 7 is dark blond.) That is not you. You are going to wind up with a warm, brassy base with light ends. In one month add dark roots to that and you have a mess on your head.

So go back to your salon. Discuss retouching your highlights or softening your base. Softening your base will soften the hard highlight regrowth line- but it will not be the same color as the highlights. For people who have darker hair and like a light look this is great. Otherwise our highlights would look too harsh with our natural base color. Or maybe you want a few lo lights to balance things out again and just look highlighted and not just one color. Lo lights are more difficult than highlights for some colorist so make sure your colorist knows what is up.

When i washed it out it was appearant that my hair was orange. Since it has dried, it is a bright goldish blonde and quite fake looking. You can't get blonde hair without bleaching it. Putting blonde hair dye over your dyed brown hair will do exactly as you described. The best thing for you to do now is to go to a salon and have a professional do your hair. Don't put any more chemicals in your hair. Too many chemicals will damage it and could cause your hair to get frizzy or even fall out. It's NOT worth it to save a few bucks by doing it at home.

If you can't afford a salon, I would suggest buying color from the store that is similar to a dark ash blond. The ash will neutralize the gold and a darker shade will not lift the shade you have now, so it shouldn't fry your hair.

I would go with an updo. You don't have to worry about it get tangled, limp, or curls falling out. I found a ton of pictures. I thought they'd all be appropriate for the party. Your in trouble with your hair. Go see a good beautician and let them help you get it back the way it was. It's a little expensive, but it will be professionally done. Please don't bleach your hair. It's ruins it, as you have found out.

DO NOT DYE IT BLONDE! It will turn orange. First try washing it, then blow dry it and see how you like the color. Remember it will lighten. It might not be as dark as you think.

Ok, Well i have orchestra concert to play in, and the guy I REALLY like is going to be playing too. I have to wear black pants (standard dress code) but my teacher is letting us break the rules a little bit, so I was thinking of wearing a Pink shirt underneath my white button-up shirt. I need help with Accesories and hair. Were not allowed to have hair hanging in our faces, but other than that it is pretty flexible. The style needs to be quick, easy, and cute. As for accesories, they need to be vanintines related (red, pink, hearts, etc.) I would really like to impress him! I am a mix of goth/punk/emo-ish. I really need help! He is in the same catagories too. and I have a music note bandana that I was thinking of wearing as a headband and I have naturally straight medium brown hair thats a little past my shoulders and cut straight across. And I play violin and he plays gutair, If that would help in any way.

Simple stud silver earings are really cute, and match the formalitty of an orchestra concert( which reminds me that I should be practicing violin right now. whoops!). It also brings out the sense of a girl. A simple small heart pendant necklace would be the perfect touch, and you could lightly 'curl, waven' out your hair, by after washing it, put some gel in, then blow dry, and whoala! Naturally cute! You could tie this all back with a ribbon in a high pony tail, or clip the front back with an elegant clip.

Remember, keep your orchestra elegance while doing this!!

The opposite of purple on the color wheel is yellow. Your absolute best bet would be to buy a Golden Brown. The gold will neutralize the purple, (cancel it out). Whenever a color neutralizes another, it basically turns brown.

Wash your hair several times with laundery detergent and that should strip the hair of some of the dye. However, this will also dry out your hair. You will need to do a deep conditioning afterwards.

Try for an ash brown . . . that should nuetrlize things then wait a couple weeks let the color fade and try again . . . also most hair dye boxes have a number you can call for help on the instuctions . . . You can try to soften the color by putting on a lot of conditioner and letting it sit for a while (put on a shower cap and go play online for a while, or something) before rinsing it out. Often, if you do that a few times, the color will fade a bit.

If that doesn't work, color over it with a warm (not red!) brown.

Buy the BEDHEAD by TIGI collection of products for curly hair. I use the Catwalk Gel and Uptight, Heat Activated Curl Maker, and Curls Rock Booster - it works wonders. The booster is great for when your hair starts frizzing out again - you can spray the spray and scrunch again and just go out again! Its the best. They also have a conditioner for curly hair that you leave in. These are available in salons or actually i just got some in Stop n Shop.

Then scrunch your hair with your hands while you blow dry on low heat or with a diffuser over the top of the hairdryer. This keeps the curls together.

When you are done blowdrying -don't brush it out - lightly and I mean lightly pick it out or run your fingers through it to fluff it a bit.

A cut with layers will help the curls to fall the best and my hairdresser cuts 'into' my hair even thoug my hair is fine (I have a lot of it though) and this enhances the curls so they keep their shape.

Finish of your hair style with a bit of hairspray to help seal out the frizzies and you are good to go - and as mentioned before - touch up with the curl booster later on if need be.

oh yeah add a SMALL drop of a smoothing cream into your hair too - even though you aren't straigtening it - use a little bit to help tame the frizzies -and then put in the curl enhancing sprays..trick my hair dresser taught me.

as for hairstyles - I wear mine up in combs or with one barrette fastened on the top of my head or one comb pushed through. Looks pretty enough for work - but nice enough for evening.

Now I have a reddish dark blonde color that doesn't look that good and I am going to see all my family tomorrow at Thanksgiving. I haven't seen them in two years and I wanted to look good. I think it would look a lot better if I added blonde highlights or tried to dye it blonde again, but can I do that tonight? I don't care if it dries my hair out because I have really oily hair anyway. I tried to die my hair dark red once and it turned bright pink. I immediately went back to the store and got brown dye and did that over it and my hair survived. However that was dying it darker and not lightening it.

just get a highlighting kit with a cap, and put some highlights in it! if your hair is long and wavy or curly you're not going to be able to use the cap very well so you are going to hand pick and choose the pieces to dye. use thin strands all over and use foil to keep the dye where you want it.

Ok get another blonde and also a darker colour, maybe a light brown (get a conditioning one like garnier) . So if the blonde doesnt even things out then stick the brown on after. Its a temporary fix and you'll probs end up with different tones in your hair,bit like highlights.

It's ok yes, but I would go to a salon for sure. That way you can sit there until they get it fixed. Your hair now is totally opened and damaged and won't react the way it is supposed to when you colour it again. You dye clothes and colour hair btw. As for x-treme reactions, yes some blones use a blue, green base or ash tinting effect to cut reddish tones. You could easily get a bad reaction and have green toned hair.

The problem with drug store products is that they don't have enough strength to get above the red/orange stage. You can only add so much % or peroxide, some 30% volume, in drug store products, when you really need a 40 volume to get over the red phase. So they add a bunch of ammonia in cases to boost the effect.

You could also go to a wholesaler if there's one in your city. The place where the salons go to buy their supplies. You won't get the 'dirt cheap' discount that hairdressers get, but you can usually get the proper colour for about 10 bucks, similar to a drug store cost.

Most of the staff are extremely helpful at wholesalers and can sell you the correct tube of colour to cut out the red.

No don't try and re dye it so soon....especially since you used an ash blonde shade...your hair will turn a greenish colour. Best to just leave it as it is and laugh it off if your family makes any comments about the new colour. When salons are open again after the holidays go to a professional to correct the colour.

O.K so heres the thing you want to go with the highlighting version of the same brand in either an ash (that will tone down the reddness) or a highlighting version in a neutral and this will neutralize some of the reddness. Both will lighten it up. Do understand you will never get the same colour as on the box as everyone hair reacts differently to product.

you should go back to the salon and have the salon fix it--when bleach is put onto your hair -- it goes through different shades 'til it gets blonde -- dark hair will turn red, then orange-red, then orange, then yellow-orange, then yellow, then pale-yellow -- he apparently did not leave the bleach on long enough -- or he didn't use bleach at all -- he could have used a lighter color hair dye than your hair -- or he was in a hurry and bleached it and didn't put any toner on it to take the orange-red out -- that can be done easily -- go back and tell him to tone out the red from your hair -- it's supposed to look blonde -- he should use 'shades e-q' -- which is a temporary hair color -- that's the one i like -- but there are other temporary hair colors -- anyway -- they all will work -- the color should be a level 7vb or 8vb -- maybe even 9vb -- he'll know which one to use.

Oh you have to be REALLY careful when you go get highlights. Some people don't use quality products. Therefore they ruin your hair. Go and have it recolored (By a highly recommended professional). Although your color still might show through (that orange color is hard to get out) at least you'll be able to cover it up a little. You're going to have to go repeatedly every 4-6 weeks to make sure all of the color comes out. Good Luck!

Are you familiar with the color wheel? It is a chart of colors in a circle and the color opposite the one you want to get rid of is the color that you need to use. Chances are, in your case it would be a soft violet. If you are unsure, just go to an art store or library and look at a color wheel. Compare it to your hair, choose the color closest to the color you want to get rid of and note the opposite color. To be safe, use a temporary color (not semi-permanent. Truly temporary). If you like the results, then get a semi-permanent version. It should be a very light color or it will darken your hair too much. It only takes a tad of the opposite color to neutralize unwanted color so DON'T choose one that is darker than your lightest natural color.

Of course your best bet would be to see a hairdresser that specializes in color. They are few and far between since coloring is the number one most risky part of hairdressing. Unless he or she is truly expert, even he won't know what you will get until the unveiling.

whatever you do, DO NOT dye it yourself, you could make it worse as you do no know what chemicals they have used in the first colour. The best advice I can give you is go back to the salon and say to them you are not happy and that the colour they gave you is not acceptable, they have to fix it for you, free of charge. If you don't get a satisfactory answer from the receptionist, ask for the salon manager, don't scream and shout, stay calm and insist that they fix the damage,they have to, they are obliged to do that, they messed it up, they have to fix it, and do not pay any more money, whatever you do.

before you go and dye your hair another color you should take ane cut just a small group of hair and place it in a cup of water if it seperates don't do anything. it means your hair isn't healthy enough to color it yet, so you could cause yourself some real problems. definitely go to another stylist that comes highly recommended.

I had the same problem! I use Biolage Daily leave in tonic, Matrix. It works for me fantastically. Also make sure that when your daughter puts on a coat that her hair is outside the coat collar! If your having trouble brushing her hair, hold a part of it and brush from the bottom of what your holding, i think that it doesn't hurt as much.

I would try Johnson %26amp; Johnson No More Tangles spray- it is in the baby section. Just spray it on wet hair and it makes it easy to comb through. Also Redken makes Clear Moisture Instant Polishing Prep leave-in cutting and detangling lotion, which you can get at Ulta. I would advise against using really heavy products- look for something that specifically says detangling. Also, comb her hair out with a wide toothed comb while it is wet and blow it dry. Good Luck!

ok, i have the same issue with my boyfriends daughter. Her hair is sooo long and tangles like mad. What always works is L'oreal tearless leave in conditioner...Then you take a comb and start from the BOTTOM, very slowly. Comb the hair gently and make sure to hold hair in a ponytail fashion. After combing, then you can use the brush. This should work

you have to realize .. the darker is more prominent than the not very light lighter color... in order to have the highlight stand out alot use a very light color.. better yet use the kit with the all over color then after dying..you do the highlighting..its like 20.00 a kit at walmart.. and its great.. what i use and the highlights really stand out especially in the sun.. or light

I think it will look fine...the problem I see with people dyeing is not only colour chioces...(meaning those whild colours) but the WAY they streak. Some do it so it looks natural, some do it and it just has the wrong results....investigate different techniques, where to streak....

Yes it should show up.

It would make the streaks look very subtle and natural.

Just be aware that if you are streaking your hair yourself, it may not look exactly the way hairdressers do it. But for the amount of money you can save, it's worth a try.

if you have ginger hair you should be able to just put a brown dye on without stripping the colour out. avoid colours with warm tones in because your hair has natural warmth in already.. but it would be best to see a professional if you are unsure

I have medium brown hair, its medium length and I have side bangs. my side bangs are straight or wavy most of the time, also thin, and short. I would like to keep the side bangs, I just want to do somethig else with them. my face is oval/round and kind of pudgy. My eyes are thin, their also hazel. I have thin lips and nose. my skin tone is fair. I'm also going into grade 7. I want to be popular.

i say...for you... to definately keep the side bangs but i would cut your hair to like right above your shoulders and have some long layers. no highlights though! i would stick to some not so tight fiting clothing for your upper body, and as far as pants go, i would wear like dark denim (( if you r gonna wear jeans )) but not so tight around the thighs especialy if you have wide thighs because the jeans will rub you badly if they are too tight there! makeup: stick to the golden brown or dark brown eyeshadow and a light blue eyeliner. be careful to not put much eyeliner on though! maybe a light pink blush would look nice too! but not too much of that either! i really hope this helped!

I have naturally medium brown hair and then dyed it dark brown. I wanted it to be red, like "Tori Amos Red" (hehe)... anyway, when my stylist dyed it my hair was too dark and it just sorta turned purple. so she stripped it. it turned out the perfect red underneath, exactly what I wanted. However the roots were bleach blonde. All she had to do was dye the roots to match. My question is, since it is stripped, will it fade more or stay the color it is now? i wonder because the roots were blonde. why is that? if it will fade will i need to get it dyed to keep it the color it is now.

To start with - when she stripped the hair, she stripped all color out of it. That's why the roots are so light. The red will hold better that way but red fades. Trust me, I know. I've been a redhead for years. Red is the hardest color to keep. Spend the cash on some really good shampoo and conditioner - not Pantene! Get the color stuff at a salon and it will help keep the red.

My suggestion to you is don't play around with home remedys when it comes to your hair. cause if you screw it up you will end up being upset and have to pay big bucks to get it fixed...trust me... If you have medium brown Hair, Go to a hair salon and you don't have to get highlights all over to look good. You can get them to do some partial high-light with the foil and get a few highlights around the face and crown/sides...it looks really nice...it looks like you've been at the lake and your hair has been kissed by the sun. But the best thing to do is maybe find a picture in a style book that you like show it to the stylist and get her opinion to see if she thinks it will compliment your hair .

They toned it and it looks ok, but the white blonde looks better on me. SHould I dye it or will it just get darker. I want it really light, just not yellowish. When I have tried dying or highlighting in the past my hair never looks any lighter than the natural color, that is why I bleached it in the first place.

that happens to me too. what kind of toner do they use when they tone it? you want something that has a violet base. you can buy shampoos and conditioners that have some violet in them to help tone it. redken makes a good conditioner for that.

I plan to use dark blonde but I don't know what developer should I use. I only want to deposit color but I don't want it to be too dark. My question is should I use a 20 or 30 developer and how long should I leave it in? I don't want it to get too dark. I have colored my hair dark blonde before but it always came out too dark. But I figure now that my hair is lighter it might actually come out. what do you think?

Get the box of color and use the toner only - mix it with 1/2 the amount of conditioner and keep looking at the color. Do not get another box of color and use it on your hair with the peroxide or bleach. That will destroy your hair. If you are going to do it that way - wait for 6 weeks and condition in the meantime.

Did you try just washing it out first? If you use Neutrogena Anti-residue shampoo almost right away, it could possibly get it out fast.

Otherwise, I'd try Natural Instincts. It's not a permanent so it won't destroy your hair. I put highlights in and it was bad, so to combat it, the next day I threw in a darker Natural Instincts and left it in for only 15 minutes. It fixed it enough until my head recovered and 2 weeks later I re-did my head with a different color.

You may want to wait a week or so before doing highlights...those can be rough on the scalp.

The gold with the red may look too washed out. Try to go a little more brunette/ash colored. It worked for me.

This happened to someone I know. Her hair turned red instead of the color on the box. It must just be your hair color. If it doesn't fade in a few days, go to your hair dresser and ask them to fix it.

Hey, the same thing just happened to me. I dyed my hair lastnight, and well, it's a little too dark for me! Anyways, answer one is correct, your hair will fade within a few days; plus, you'll get used to it.

Was your hair a really light colour before? Did you dye your hair a totally different colour from what it was before? If so, you're probably just not used to it. Within a few weeks, you'll get used to it.

I don't recommend you putting lemon juice in it because your hair could turn lighter than you want, but, if you really want to do that, then go ahead. Just remember, your hair colour will fade eventually!
