Greasy/Oily hair solutions?

I have medium/long hair and I've noticed my hair gets pretty greasy/oily pretty soon after I wash my hair (I dont like work out or anything tho..). I use Pantene shampoo %26amp; conditioner (seperate) and I like it (either Ice Shine or Breakage defensive...cuz i straighten my hair sometimes).

does anyone know of any SPECIFIC names %26amp; brands that can work to make hair less greasy.oily?? (i mean, not just like "pantene", like the actual specific name...becuz there's SOO many out there :P)

thanks [=

i have really greasy hair. 'chip pan hair' as ma mum says (lol). avoid 'pantene' thats real bad for greasy specialy ice shine because that makes more oil come out to make your hair shine. i have tried it.

use a very mild shampoo. herble essence does a good one.you will see it becaus they only do 1 for greasy hair. try and avoid moisture splash ones as well they are not good for greasy hair.

use only very small amount of shampoo. that helps. don't show in very hot water as that opens the pours on your head and oil then comes out. try also not to really 'rub' your hair in the shower as this stimulates greasy hair.

hope i helped.

To save on buying another bottle of shampoo use what you have and add about a tablespoon of baking soda to the amount you would use to wash your hair with in one washing. Wash and rinse as normal and either skip the conditioner or use very little on your ends only. I have the same problem and this works wonders :)

Here's what you do, when you notice that your hair is getting a little oily, use facial powder on your roots. It holds the moister and you can't really notice it. I do it as my hair is so oily hours after I wash it!!! My hair dresser actually told me about it. ALSO, when your done washing your hair instead of spraying it with warm or hot water, spray it with cold water to close the pours in your head...

Think of it like this, when you get a facial you use hot water to open your pours, you use cold water to close them!

Hope this helps!!

Wash your hair in the morning instead of at night, and when you use conditioner, don't use it on your roots.

Try using Aussie Cleanse %26amp; Mend shampoo and conditioner. It cleans your hair out well without overdrying it.

Add a tablespoon of baking soda to your shampoo, baking soda is really good for getting oil out of your hair.

Hi what you can do is put the shampoo on before you get your hair wet. also only put conditioner on the mids and ends not the scalp. You can also you washing up liquid but only do this once every two weeks as this will dry out you hair. You can also try washing you hair in cooler water and when you dry it use a low heat.
