My hair is a little longer than my shoulders and I use 'Herbal Essenses' volumizing hairspray and if I use too much, my hair looks dirty all day (greasy looking) and if I dont use enougn, my hair is just flat and you dont even feel the hairspray.

First, you'll need layers, because all one length hair will weight itsself down and go flat. Next, get a volumizing shampoo and conditioner---I like Matrix and Thresemme best. After you wash and condition your hair, gently towel dry and apply a root booster to your roots only, and a volumizing mousse to the rest of your hair. Blow dry your hair with your head upside down, and you'll have volume.

If you need an extra boost, you can back-comb the crown for added lift.

I have been using a great product for my hair made by Loreal. It's a hair conditioner that comes in a pink bottle that has the word silk in it. I'm not at home, so I can't run and look at the actual bottle. I have very fine long hair, and it has given my hair so much body, and it does feel nice and silky to the touch. In my opinion hair sprays and gels just add build up to your hair, that often doesn't wash out easily.

if you can, get yourself a can of Sebastian's Shaper hair spray...its not expensive and it lasts forever..... its the best hair spray going.... the trick to volume is not putting too much crap on the hair.... too many products weigh hair down...

Use Velcro Rollers for volume... you can get 20 of them for a couple bucks...and they can be used for many things....

~after shampoo dry hair 3/4 of the way....

( remember to shampoo and use Detangler if needed...forget the daily conditioner - its not needed nor does it work)

~Set just the crown of the hair with 2" velcro rollers, spraying lightly on the root area with Shaper....

~ Let dry hittiing the rollers with heat from hair dryer every few minutes.....

~ while rollers are drying finish make-up - brush teeth....etc...

~ Just as you are ready to go - take curlers out - using fingers and vent brush to style hair and
